My son's Halloween costume this year.

Post by pturley »

This is my oldest son's halloween costume for 2008.

I had the idea for this one last year. He and I spent the last five nights and all day Saturday carving this out and getting it painted.

Image

It's made of pink foam insulation glued with urethane glue, carved/sanded to shape then painted with foam safe paint.

He won first place in the parade/costume contest this afternoon.

Sincerely,
Paul E. Turley

Wow! Mantis-boy strikes!!! That is really cool  - i think a scorpion for next year? Or a chameleon with independantly moveable eyes & a projectile tongue if you are feeling up for a challenge!
Lou: Every young man's fantasy is to have a three-way.
Jacob: Yeah not with another fu**!ng guy!
Lou: It's still a three-way!

That's a beauty! Surely a Turley catfish theme next year? ;-)

That's awesome! He'll remember building that and winning the prize for the rest of his life. Good job Paul!

BTW, you were missed at the convention but we did wave at the baileys in your honor in the store, hehe.

I am with you on this one. I am going to make him a belt mounted "goodie bag" he'll have to wear on his hip. They go begging on Friday.

Thank you all for the comments, but I have to say I am not sure who had more fun with this project :D

My middle son absolutely insisted on a store bought "Star Wars" costume this year. There were four of them in the community parade!. He wants a homemade one for next year as well.

And just wait until next year... ... the ideas and plans are already starting but I am the catfish nut in the house; my kids not so much (I am working on it).
