Sexing this L-240
Can anybody tell if the small cat outside the cave could be a female? I am pretty sure the big one in the cave is a male. The littel one (10 cm) has been outside the cave for some days now, doing something looking like courtship to me.
Cheers.

It looks like a female trying to get into the males cave, but are you sure about the size? 10cm tl is to small I think.

You are right. Size is more like 13 cm tl. Is it big enough to be mature?

I don`t know how big they are when they mature. Hopefully Cristoffer can tell you if he reads this thread.

Compare you're fish with this image!
I would say female. A very narrow and short head.
I think the head shape is the best way to sex L240.

Also
Thats a L241 male and a L240 female, but the differences are the same.
Here can you see how the head is more short in a female.
And the longer head of a male. L. cf. galaxias "Venesuela"
Female:
Head of L29 male. A bit blurry
Hope you can use them as reference. The best way to be 100% sure is if you take a photo from above of both you're L240. But I'm quite sure of a female.

Cristoffer
