does a thomasi pleco fit here?

Post by saylaveev »

Sorry I don't remember the full latin name , I believe its something like C. thomasi

I just picked one up and know a little about them. But was wondering if they are a fish that fits under the "South American" topic.

Thanks, and any suggestions you can give me would be great. He/She is only about 1 inch long, and just arrived at the pet store yesterday. I wouldn't normally get on this soon, but I've been waiting for a while to see them, and they are already all sold. So I picked up the last one.

These are bulldog plecos (<i>Chaetostoma thomasi</i>), and they tend to be territorial. Not overtly so, mostly involving a lot of chasing but no real damage.
They require cool water, preferably with a strong current, and will eat most foods readily.

NB: this is a repost, as the original replies were inadvertently lost.
