Maybe one of the Teleocichla species found in Rio xingu, there are at least 4 differents species but I dont know if all of them are scientific described...they show up sometimes in the trade.

Lemon tetras lives in Rio Iriri. Maybee that is close enough? They can handle both the current and high temperature of a typical Xingu tank. A school of tetras will clean the watermasses of food debris, and can therefore be beneficial in moderate numbers.

I'm thinking Eartheaters. Specifically, Geophagus spec. Tapajos Red head. They are absolutely stunning, require the same temperatures and don't grow too big (to around 8" or 20cm). Tank should be about 100gal/5ft minimum (which is no different from what you need for your L82).
Cheers,

Hi,

hmm, most of the fish on the list, no idea. I think many will be impossible to get, unless you know the right people. But what type of tank (and what size) do you want?

Pecos:

Ancistrus ranunculus Loricariidae demersal 16 TL native
Glyptoperichthys joselimaianus Loricariidae demersal 38 TL native
Otocinclus hasemani Loricariidae demersal 4 TL 2.8 native
Otocinclus vittatus Loricariidae demersal 4 TL 2.8 native
Platydoras costatus Doradidae demersal 30 TL 3.0 native

Definitely available.

Cichlids:

Acarichthys heckelii Cichlidae benthopelagic 17 TL 3.0 native
Aequidens tetramerus Cichlidae benthopelagic 25 TL 3.2 native
Aequidens tubicen Cichlidae benthopelagic 15 TL 3.2 native
Cichlasoma araguaiense Cichlidae benthopelagic 12 TL 3.2 native
Crenicichla marmorata Cichlidae benthopelagic 35 TL 3.1 native
Crenicichla stocki Cichlidae benthopelagic 25 TL 3.4 native
Mesonauta acora Cichlidae benthopelagic 9 TL 3.3 native

Should be possibile to get, but mostly require really large tanks (especially the crenis).

Characins:

Hyphessobrycon eques Characidae benthopelagic 4 TL 3.0 native
Hyphessobrycon inconstans Characidae benthopelagic 5 TL 2.9 native
Hyphessobrycon scholzei Characidae benthopelagic 4 TL 2.9 endemic
Hyphessobrycon stegemanni Characidae benthopelagic 4 TL 2.9 native

No. 1 should be available at you LFS. The others maybe.
Cheers,
Tina
