Bunocephalus or Dysichthys?

Post by Toirtis »

Which is the currently accepted genera for this group of cats? I have assumed Bunocephalus, but have recently seen a number of sources refer to Dysichthys, and was wondering if anyone could quote a reference.

It's Bunocephalus. The most definitive work to date is John Friel's Ph.D. dissertation on aspredinids, and Dysichthys is considered a junior synonym of Bunocephalus in there.
