Striped raphael catfish ( talking catfish )

I wanted to know if I can feed a talking catfish tropical fish flake and keep it in an tank with tetras and minnows.

Keeping them with fish that are large enough not to fit in their mouth (and their mouth isn't ginormous) should be fine, and flake food will be eaten if it reaches the bottom of the tank or if you feed when the tank is dark. It is probably a little bit better to feed, say, tetra bits/prima/discus [same stuff, different names in different places].

Feed it some catfish pellets.

Flake is fine - pinch some between your thumb & forefinger underwater to get a clump to sink quicker, but obviously some pellets of tablets would be better - (& always after lights out to ensure he gets some grub!)

Beware though - tetras & minnows are a tasty snack once he starts to grow. He's not predatory but opportunistic & he won't know any better.

Both of my spotted raphaels will come out for food. I primarily feed massivore tabs, kens premium carinvore discs, shrimp pellets, live worms (blood and earthworm) along with live shrimps. They love everything and will come out in the light to eat. I would hope that you could feed him some sorts of pelleted foods.

Keep in mind that most fish are happier with a wider variety of food. One thing that makes me sad though is that dried bloodworms never make it to the bottom of the tank. (Gotta give the cories frozen.)

If you mix the dried bloodworms with a little egg white & paint it onto a rock, then microwave it for 10 seconds it will 'set' & you can pop it into the tank - dry bloodworms on the tank bottom!
