Dropped in to say Hi

Post by vanillarum »

Hey gang, finally got my account activated (thanx Julian !) and thought I'd pop in and introduce myself. Name is Dan, from USA, Mass. Been keeping fish off and on about 10 years, but only seriously for about a year. By seriously I mean AB, buying fish online, and basically discovering that there is a whole lot more to fish keeping than what I learned at Petco and PetSmart, which are the only 2 fish stores close to me ! :) Got a 10 gal that my daughter and I have been keeping for 2 years, and a new (January) 46 gal. Right now the 10 has some cory hastatus, otos, and shrimp. In the 46 I've got plecos (1 ABN, 1 x L254, 1 x L015, 2 x L399/400, and 3 x L333(2"), sids, sewellia lineolata, SAEs, halbeaks, and rasbora het. And corys, emerald green, I believe. And that's it. Sorry to be so long winded first time out. Just wanted to say I'm happy to be here. Have a nice day ! :D

Welcome to the forum VanillaRum. I'm happy to have you here. I recently decided to ramp up my involvement with fish and found the best way to go was to find a local fish club. Many clubs have members who rear fish you just won't find elsewhere and can help you expand your horizons immensely. I did the LFS and AB route but started getting real variety when I went to an auction by a local club. They can be a truly wonderful resource for both information and hard to find fish. I noticed while looking around for local clubs that they seemed abundant in your part of the country.

Welcome (even though I'm only a passive member myself). Are you in any of the local clubs?
