I have a L200 and a L187 in a planted tank. I added some type of red sword plant a couple of weeks ago and the leaves are being eaten pretty bad. Also the Amazon swords that are in the tank are beginning to be eaten as well. I added both fish about two weeks ago also. I have removed some snails - only one ramshorn snail. I don't think I have a snail problem. Could either of these fish be eating my plants?
Thanks.
It is a 55g planted SA tank that has been running for about 4 months - the other fish are angels, rams, tetras, cories.
what is eating my plants?

Re: what is eating my plants?
The aufwuchs/algae eating plecs do chew on plants, often for the algae that grows on them. The side-effect is that they can damage the plants themselves, especially when the plec is quite large.
Well fed plecs tend to be less destructive.

Ah - okay. My other bottom feeders are probably eating up the food too quickly - I need to do more night feedings.racoll wrote:The aufwuchs/algae eating plecs do chew on plants, often for the algae that grows on them. The side-effect is that they can damage the plants themselves.
