Glenn! you must know by now that R. wui isn't the correct scientific name anymore it's now called Rhinogobius duospilus

and about the danio margaritatus, i could say glenn is one of the pioneers in breeding these amazing little fish, and many of his photo's are already been published on the net and in magazines! great job glenn, tell us more about that please!

Ha ha, Dutchfry,Tim, you give me too much credits about the CPD's but i learned a lot from the guys from Bolton museum about how to breed these beautiful little fish,they were the first ones who bred the CPD's succesfully and they wrote a very good report/article about it.

That was my first guess, but can't ever remember seeing one like that in the 10 years I worked at a tropical fish store, although maybe it's just the angle of the fish that's maming it look different.

How's that for spooky!
Went to my LFS after work Friday and they had just received a shipment of Nannostomus marginatus, along with some Galaxy Rasboras.
I had already decided to return my Emperor Tetras as they were just too voracious food-wise and was becoming concerned that the tatis would not get a decent share of the food if they stayed - funnily enough, the day after removing the emperors, I saw two of the three tatias perching on bulging bellies from a feast of bloodworm the previous evening, so I am a little less concerned now.
I ended up replacing the tetras with a shoal of 7 rummy-nose tetras (Hemmigrammus rhodostomus) and four marbled hatchets (Carnegiella strigata). Think I may go and pick up a few of the Nannostomus marginatus next week (probably only 4 or 5) as was keen to let them settle in at my LFS. I was initially tempted by the Galaxy Rasboras, but just did not like them as much - maybe it's just me but they look like miniature freshwater trout, and their swimming style was, to me anyway, abnormal.
Anyway, thanks to Bennyvis for inspiring me

With regards your latest post, again, absolutley stunning images - well worthy of a magazine or book. I am trying with a Nikon Digital SLR with an 18-55 but am getting nothing like your images . I'm guessing you are using manual settings? Am very envious
I managed to find myself some trifasciatus, but finding marginatus doesn't seem so easy.

If you have a D50 or some such, you should be able to get pretty decent results.
You probably need to get it to use ISO1600 or higher to get decent results.
Using auto-settings should be OK, as long as you can adjust the ISO (on my Canon, the "full auto" settings will give you only ISO100-400 as the camera sees fit).

Thanks Mats - have a D40x so will try and see about changing the ISO and see what I get.
I'm trying to catch a shot my

Chaetostoma sp(L443)

to confirm he is just that, but as with the other two bulldogs I have, he/she is very skittish and will disappear as soon as I move toward the tank.
