guys, help me to ID this catfish i saw at an importers place.. labelled as zungaro catfish..

Not a Zungaro which is lucky for you and for the fish too :wink: but maybe this or some of the other in the same genus.

Hi

I got 4 of these for my friend. They were sold as zungaro too but as Janne says they are not Z. zungaro but probably young P. bufonius or a related species. They are small at the moment (about 3 inches total length) so I think we will have to see if they grow and if so what they look like when older. Nice photo, did you take it?

thanks guys..

no, i didn't take the pic.. this was taken by my importer friend.. he was asking me to verify ID and i know which forum to post it at of course ;) ..

i'm still thinking if i'll get one.. so it will max at about 10"?

Unless it's an unidentified species i think Janne has it! although the colouring/pattern appears not typical of the specimens i have encountered.

I have yet to see any individual over a foot TL
