Sexing Loricaria simillima

Post by cloudies »

How can I see the difference between male and female with Loricaria simillima. I have looked at the pictures in the catelog but I can't tell the difference. Also when I look at my three fish, the only real difference is the size (two are bigger)

Thanks in advance!

I have similar species, that is the Loricaria Sp rio Atabapo. I find it difficult to distinguish their gender through their lips.

Even when I place both gender side by side, I still couldn't figure out. Instead I look at their body structure / shape at the abdomen region from the top or at a 45 degrees angle from the front looking down at the fish. The male tends to be slimmer and the shape is like concave / curve-in at the abdomen region, while the female fish is pretty plump.
