Tank Help

I have a ten gallon tank that i was planing to breed fish in. I had a Haplo catfish and a pl*co. The Catfish had ick so i put in the medicine and it cleared up. The pl*co then turned up dead in the tank. I noticed my catfish was panting very hard. The next morning the catfish was dead. Any ideas what caused this?

in any case, the tank was way too small.

Catfish - in general - are quite sensitive towards itch medication. A normal dose might be enough to kill them
cats have whiskers
