what kind of rineloricaria?

hi everyone
i try to complete my cat-list but i wanted be sure for one my species,i would like some help thanks!

Rineloricaria eigenmanni

? It is the by far most common in the trade (although it may not be correctly identified in the shop)

Having said that, in a post in the Science news, there is nine new species identified, and all of these come from an area that is 500 x 150 km. Bas Pels points out that this would mean that there are hundreds or thousands of different species if they are equally spread over the South American continent.

Unlikely based on where it's from. Very few fishes get exported from Rio Paraguay. And it's very likely that anyone selling those would make sure they are appropriately marked as such, since they would be more unique and therefore more valuable.

the color, shape and spots etc etc are very close and similar specialy in the second picture,what you think?

Playing the odds, I would say it's much more likely to be R. eigenmanni. The Madeira drainage (where Rio Beni flows into) is fished. I don't know if this fish spreads further into the Madeira basin - in which case it would be POSSIBLE.

Edit: I should add that the colouration and pattern is highly variable within this genus - and the same individual may well change colour depending on mood and surroundings - not quite like a chameleon, but certainly capable of changing its colour quite significantly.

It is Hemiloricaria eigenmanni.
You can recognize this species easily by its typical coloration of the fins.
