Have you seen the current "catfish of the month" article - click the icon of the L340 on the top left corner of the homepage.
It suggests a preference for meaty foods such as insect larvae, bloodworm etc but states it should not be a fussy feeder as long as variety is offered.

Tetra bits is usually a good choice for Hypancistrus.
Also, have a read of my article on "Feeding Loricariidae" [link on the right of this post] - your fish is a carnivore.

Re: food for my wild L-340 from Orinoco
thanks Guys!!
Yeap this Hypancistrus isn't a problem to feed, my 4 adults are little fat pigs...
Bloodworms, artemia salinas, tablets, spirulina tablets, pellets, falkes...they would eat anything...I even tried choped earthworm ( should not be given too often, cause it is really fat) and it was eaten without much of a problem
Cheers
Yann

Indeed a very easy fish by diet.
I got one too and it will eat everything the others are eating.
When bought it was skinny now hes becoming a little piggy
Only thing it wouldnt eat : jbl pleco tabs with woodextracts. (although it seems to hang 23 hours a day underneath my wood).
