I know the pics aren't close up enough but I tried my best. Same fish store as the assorted synos ID,

They have them as Clown Pleco:

They also had a sign for a blue spot pleco but I couldn't get a pic.

The first one is a (L147/L205/L387 perhaps - the picture isn't ideal for ID purposes, but a comparison with the pictures in the Cat-eLog should help you along)
The second is probbably a , perhaps .

The first is definitely , as the very wide & nearly divided mid-body band distinguishes them from similar species...except the rarely-if-ever imported P.brevis of course.

I agree that the second is L.joselemai, because doesn't have white tips on it's unpaired fins from what I've seen.

yeah I was wondering about the white tips, if he was sick and they said no they all get white tips the bats. Hmmm.

so their clown isnt a clown and their bat isnt a vampire pleco?

I wonder what their blue spot pleco is? I need to get a pic of that.

Man I can see where its hard to buy the right one of these guys. :?

The Leporacanthicus looks gorgeous- I wish I saw them round me... at a price <£10 of course :D
