Sometime mid last year I bought this pleco. The guy at the lfs said it was a zebra pleco, I knew it wasn't but I did know it was SOME fancy pleco and as i really was after one and the price wasn't really crazy i bought him. I've tried comparing him to others that look similar but I'm not 100% he is a L260 yet. What do you say?

I'm Definitely not an expert but perhaps the squiggles aren't fine enough for L260.

Sweet fish you've got though Sabi whatever it turns out to be.
2-1/2 inches is close to breeding size for L260 and therefore, adult colors. I don't think it is L260. Young L66/L333/401, take your pick. It struck me as a possible young L333 but I won't join in racoll's suggested wager because I'm not certain enough.
I agree that it is a young L260. As the fish grows, the pattern basically stays the same size. Once adult sized, that means it will have twice as many stripes on the body, which makes them appear "thinner" when it's really just relative. 2.5" TL is going to be quite a bit different than SL with these fish and I've never had any spawn under 3" SL and never had a male even attempt it under 3.5" SL. The youngest any of my fry have spawned was 20 months, as far as I know, so I do definitely think this is just a young fish. Some L260 keep the very stark contrast, while others get more "muddy" looking, but both types will have fry with the intense coloration this one shows, IME. I just figured the really contrasting fish were the super models of the queen arabesque world ;).

Absolutely, SL is the same as standard lenght meassured from the nose to the end of the caudal peduncle and TL is the same as total lenght meassured from the nose to the end of the tailfin.
