Corydora Pygmaeus
Hello once again. I am now accidently the owner of a pygmy cory.
A beautiful fish, he has an irridescent orange band down his side. Something I never noticed in photos.
I say 'accidently', because he came shipped within a bag that was supposed to have 4 rasboras. Instead I got one pygmy cory, and three rasboras that did not make it. I have a suspicion his mad dashing in the bag may have been a contributing factor. The vendor doesn't understand how he got in there, because the rasboras and cories are kept separate.I was hopeful he would start to hang out with my four corydoras habrosus, and he tried...but I guess they won't have it. He is sadly by himself..so I ordered a couple more to arrive this week. Anyone here keeping them? There isn't much info on them. Do you know how big they get?

Thanks so much Marc, that was very helpful. An interesting thing to note, I thought they were totally bottom fish...like my habrosus. But in the description it says they are a mid-column cat..and he is. That is cool, he scours the plant leaves for something/food. I was worried adding more bottom feeders would compromise those that I have. I can't wait until his friends arrive!

I bought 8 to accompany a lonely C. hastatus (these are pretty rare over here atm) and was very pleased to discover that they behave like a shoal of Characins cruising the mid waters. And they also sort of adopted the hastatus, which is now much more at ease. I think you'll be very pleased with your group of C. pygmaeus.
