59liter - L10a home

I would like to show you my small tank for L10a
Size: 70x28x30cm (about 58l )
Live: Neocaridina heteropoda var. red, Caridina serriatirostris "Ninja", Caridina gracilirostris "Red Nose", Neritina, Theodoxus fluviatilis , L10a, Betta Splendens
Plants: Cladophora aegagropila, anubias and others.
This tank start his live abaut september 2007 and i think its ok Under Cladophora there are tubes for catfish. I think they like siting there

Do you have any females? Looks like the fish in the photos are males.

The specimens seem rather young as of yet. I would be hesitant to sex them for sure.

Also, how do you keep the cladophora weighed down? IME, it does not attach to stuff.

L10a doesn't grow large. If I can sex the males shown then the females are sexable. They do not have any "fuzz" and have more rounded heads than the pointed heads of the males.

Oh, I know-I have bred the "species" before (ultimately unsuccessful, though). However, I have had subdominant or just slow growing F1 male individuals purchased from other sources that have not had much in the way of odontodal growth until they were quite large.

Hi Sorry i wasnt here so long. Well... i dont give co2. and what abaut sex. i know that one of four is for 100% male. picture is below there are three more fish that sex i dont know. maby you can give me some link or pictures how to say what sex are the rest of the fish?

this plant in the bottom is Cladophora aegagropila light is +/- 0,62w/l

you did a nice job,but you have bought the ball of cladophora?if how did you open the ball and fix on the bottom?

yes, it was a ball (abaut 16 balls).In Poland its verry common i cheap you insert finger inside the ball and tear under water. its important that you make it under water - then this tearing will be easier then you put it on the bottom and its all:) after puting on the bottom its like surface. for abaut half year it make one whole peace. and it have to be mow reulary. preety thing but it catch every grunge. i hop i write it quite good, cos my english is quite not perfect ;)

L10a are clean fish to keep, the Cladophora doesn't need intense lighting and the shrimp take care of the rest. The can reach amazing densities in aquariums like Mehi's
I have 1000's of shrimp scattered about my tanks and typically use less than a watt per gal so these sorts of tanks are low maintenance.
I have Crystal Red, Chinese Tiger, Snowball, Gold and of course, lot's of Cherry shrimp. The hard part is assuring that the shrimp that can hybridize never become mixed.
