Glass Catfish ill
Hello all.
I've five glass catfishes that have been in the tank (28oC, pH 6.5, KH and GH 3) for six months now, doing well, growing well.
They are between 6 and 8cm long.
Yesterday I noticed that the largest had a hugely distended body cavity, his entire front below the mouth is blown up like a baloon.
His is still swimming well, and feeding well as well.
What could be wrong with it? What would you suggest?
thanks for the help.

The swelling has stabilised , but he still has his body cavity blown up like a ballon.
He is still feeding well. Any ideas on what should be done?

Re: Glass Catfish ill
Generally, water changes never hurt any fish [assuming the water used is OK].
Internal swelling often indicates internal bacterial infection, which can be very difficult to treat.

Time to get out an empty match box and prepare for the funeral.

Re: Glass Catfish ill
Good news, swelling gone down and fish now looking normal.
I wonder if it was an abcess or something similar.
Anyway, problem solved and all glass catfish are looking good.
thanks
