pygmaeus, bilineatus, or something completely different?

I bought these as nemus cories...I thought they were pygmaeus, but since I got home, I don't believe they are. I can find nothing about these *nemus* cries anywhere.

Definitely in the C. elegans complex (I say complex because it's easier to say than "elegans, bilineatus, nanus, etc..." and, IMO, they look very similar and can be hard to tell apart). I believe they are probably C. bilineatus, but they are still young and may gain more black with age. (IDK!!)
Your best bet for a proper ID is to wait for Ian (Coryman) to come along .

Yup...at first I thought they were nanus, but then, after reading the profile, it said that nanus are known from only 10 specimens, and very rare in the fish industry.

They do have some growing to do....they are only about 1/2-3/4 of an inch long right now.

So they are deffaintly not pygmaeus, right?

Definitely not C. pygmeus but definitely an interesting species, especially if they stay within the Dwarf Cory size.

I bought 2 more today at work...they're acclamationg right now.

I might get a 20 long in the next few weeks as an upgrade.

They are all doing wonderfully btw...all still alive, swimming all over the tank...I can't wait to get them a larger tank...lol

I would say that you have C. napoensis a species from the The Rio Aguarico system in Ecuador and the Rio Napo system in Peru.
