Hi all,
I was asked by the manager of my LFS (my boss...) to ID some cories he had gotten in on Monday. He said he'd ordered C. schwartzi. He knowns that I'm into catfish so asks me to ID or tells people to talk to me if there's something he doesn't know.
Anyway here they are. Two different species. I wasn't enlightened as to if they were all supposed to be schwartzi or if he had ordered something else, just to get an ID. I was confident that I could ID them, but... well here I am, so...

Thanx all. I was thinking C. delphax (and I did also consider C. robustus), but the base color was more bronzed and the spots really didn't show through. I was trying to find a stress colored cory I guess...
Jools, I can try to get more pix of the first species from the side, but it will be a couple days before I go back into work. I'll post then and hope you guys see it.
Just remembered I do have one more picture of the first species. Hope it helps.

The first picture is of C. leucomelas and the second is of C. delphax. The distinguishing feature that cancels it out from being C. robustus it the dorsal bar, in C. robustus it runs posteriorly diagonally from the base of the dorsal spine.

Wow - I find it really hard to focus in on the differences without live fish to work from. Anyway, looking at the images (both here and in the Cat-eLog) and I correct in thinking that C. leucomelas has a shorter "face" than C. delphax & C. robustus?
In actual fact C. leucomelas is a smaller, stockier species who's markings are generally smaller and jet black. The dorsal blotch is also black and diamond shaped.
