All about me...
Hello
I'm new here and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm not new to keeping fish, just new to this site, well.. sort of, I've been lurking for ages, just never got around to registering until now.
Anyway I've been around fish all my life, my dad kept tropicals when I was small and as is the case with many people I had a goldfish bowl with 2 goldfish who were replaced every now and again. Then I got a 2ft tank when i was about 12 with 4 fancy goldfish, had them for about a year before they died(sigh I wish I'd have known then what I know now), I moved on to rodents and didn't have fish again.
Then August 06 I was given a black moor goldfish in a bowl as a birthday present off my toddler, I rushed out and got the goldie a 4G plastic tank & filter and then upgraded it a couple of weeks later to an 18G(and added another fancy). Then January last year I purchased a secondhand juwel 240 tank that came with a gourami, geophagus & 2 corys and that's when my fish obsession really started. I still have the 2 corys from that juwel tank but the gourami, geo & the tank itself have all been passed on to other people(I also still have those 2 goldies).
My current setups are as follows;
35G planted tank, T5 lighting, Co2, bottled ferts at the moment, aqua pro 2 filter(rated up to 80G's)
Inhabitants - 5 C.Melanotaenia, 4 C.Aeneus, 7 otocinclus & 6 white cloud mountian minnows.
30G planted tank, ordinary T8 lighting(2 18W bulbs) & bottled ferts, fluval 305 filter
Inhabitants - 1 black moor & 1 calico telescope
18G planted tank, T8 lighting(1 18 w bulb), having to rely on api root tabs until I either get some powdered ferts(EI dosing) or liquid fert that doesn't contain copper, 2 x fluval 2+ filters.
Inhabitants - 6 C.Panda, 5 C.Trilineatus & 10 amano shrimp
5G planted tank, liquid ferts, 2 x stingray filters
Inhabitants - 5 dwarf frogs
I currently change approximately 20% of the water twice a week(so 40% a week), I sometimes give the sand in the tanks a quick clean inbetween if I feel it necassary(I like the sand spotless lol).
These are all temporary setups until I get the cash together to setup my 2 4ft tanks, once that is done, all the fish will be moving tanks and having their numbers upped. I'll post pics of my setups & fish in the appropriate section later on.
So that's all about me, I've already recognized a few names on here from other foums I use, so hello to anyone who knows me and hoping to get to know those of you who don't
