Website updated

Post by scotcat »

Hi All,

We now have a brand new spanking website for 2008 which will hopefully bring us a bit more up to date on the online world. I have still to finish a few things on it, but in the main everything that we need imediately, should be working all right. The address is still the same at http://www.catfishstudygroup.org/core/index.htm

I wish all members a Happy New Year and a good one for the CSG over the next 12 months.
Regards,

Allan.

Hi All,

There has been reported from a MAC user that the menu system in the new site has creped over to the right obscuring the text. Could all MAC users please report back through the forum on how the site responds to them. This is quite important as we want to be able to reach everybody whatever their browser platform. It does work fine on Firefox and IE but have not tested it on Opera etc.

The menu system is absolutely positioned with x and y coordinates so it is a bit of a surprise to me.
Regards,

Allan.

Hi Allan,

I am not sure if this is just a MAC thing at all. whet happens is that the navigation panel sits on top of the page and is a fixed size, but the page can be reduced and thus the navigation panel overrides the text on the page.

Hi All,

The menu should now behave itself as I have now positioned it relative to the image on the left so it should stick there.
It does look better in IE than Firefox so I may have to work furher on this. Please let me know if any further probs.
Regards,

Allan.

Hi All,

The menu system on the new site should be working all right now. I have anchored it to the image on the menu background so hopefully it should not move now. If you spot any other problems please let me know.

Hi All,

The menu has now been fixed to stay where it is. I have positioned it relative to the image underneath it so hopfully there should be no further problems. If anything else spotted please let me know.

P.S. seems to work better in IE rather than FIrefox so I will may be have a look at that also.
Regards,

Allan.

Nice one Allan!

You've done a professional job in freshening up the site. Everything seems to work O.K. for me at least.

Can we submit the photo entries for the 2009 CSG calender to you and maybe start a gallery for entries? What do other members think? At least we would have some new material to keep feeding you.

Cheers,
Mark.

No,
All entries should be submitted to me , please.

Mark,

As I announced at the AGM yesterday, I will be choosing a select panel to solely judge the entries.
When I decided to run with this project, I did consider running the competition along similar lines as you suggested, and others also, however; for varying reasons I decided that a judging panel was the best option all round.
