Re: ancistrus blue spot ?
I think LDA45, i have one I identified using Kathy Jinkings book on Ancistrus, here is a scan of the pic from the book.
And here is one of my little guy
This ID has also been confirmed by a member of a message board, the picture above apparently matching the aqualog pic.

Re: ancistrus blue spot ?
It seems to be the right one, LDA45 is the same as L349 Ancistrus sp from Peru and Rio Huallaga.
Maybe you can confirm if you ask your dealer if they are imported from Peru.

Re: ancistrus blue spot ?
Guys, I think you're getting confused here. The picture at the top of the post doesn't appear to be the same fish OR poster as the one lower down.
e.g. this fish:
http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/6341 ... sspwk6.jpg posted by katmandu
is not this fish
http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj23 ... 1200844755 post by Conard.
I still think the top fish in the first post is a . Could we have more photographs please?

Re: ancistrus blue spot ?
Jools i think you are correct, on closer inspection the head shape does seem more like that of a Lasiancistrus, especially looking at the last photo posted - as such i am somewhat stumped as to the identity of the fish! very pretty though.
