Yes looks like one to me too, unless it could be L333, another type of tiger. Either of them are great.

My L066's are not always as lightly coloured, sometimes they can be quite dark other times there is a great contrast and they look almost black and white.

Hi Jen. I'm new to cats so I cannot comment on your King, but what I can say is this:

Do catfishes change their colour intensity with their mood? My experience with community fish and African Rift valley fish is that they do almost continuously. :?:

So my guess here would be that it may well be the L066 you were promised, but maybe a little stressed out because of being moved?

I have similar issues with fish identification with African Rift Valley Fish (many hybrids and close relations) so what I try and do is find 2 or 3 possibilities and then research them to find the small differences between them.

It's generally the small differences that count.

(Not to say Daragh is wrong of course)

Also, why does this forum blank out the Cichlid word? (CICH-LID)

Good luck with your ID.....

Thanks everyone thats what I hope he is, is white and black most of the time(camera does no justice), I have seen him on my black filter box and he sometimes goes slightly darker so I agree they change colour(my gibby did change colour when he was sulking, he used to get told off for nicking all the food, lol!). Anyhow my new little fish does have a white belly and my BF says sharp pectoral fins too (he found that out on release).
We have decided to name him Kiyoshi (Japanese meaning Quiet) because he is much calmer and quiet unlike our ex gibby, unless anyone else has a better insight to names, heres a link where I got it from

Any other name suggestions or L number comments are welcome.
