L183 Pictures
Hello everyone,
I've had 5 young L183 for a couple of months now and I have been waiting to be able to sex them.
I got them when they were about 2 inches long. At this point all of them had 2 short "bristles" at the tips of their noses. Since then they have all gotten a few more small bristles along their nose.
I am wondering if anyone has any pictures of females L183s. I am trying to find out the degree to which females grow bristles. I am starting to wonder if the guy I bought them from gave me all males.

Sexing L-183
I have an adult trio of L-183's. The females have no bristles at all. I also have L-182's. Some females have no bristles at all and some do. But they are around the mouth but not down the top of the nose like the males.
Most of these plecos I have found take at least a year to grow up and do not spawn until sometime in their second year. The 182's are much easier than 183's.

Good fish are spawned and raised in Burlington.

All of my L183 females have bristles on their lips. Are you sure you have L183? Basically the males will have bristles that point up at the center of their lip, instead of just outward. As they mature, they grow more bristles on the center of their face. Hopefully that will help with your problem .
