L226 trouble?

Post by Mustang »

I have three L226 that I´ve been in the same tank for about a year and a half.
They spawned for the first time a couple of weeks ago but the male didn´t guard the eggs good enough so I didn´t get any fry.

The last couple of days one of them has been fast breathing and today I saw this:

What shall I do?

Tank: 240 l
Weekly water changes.
360 us
pH 7,2
3000 l/h filtration

i think the oxygen levels are low in your tank. try to add an air stone for more dissolved oxygen, especially at night when your aquatic plants take as much o2 as they need to make it through the night.

do you add co2 to your tank?

I have trouble seeing that this should be trouble with oxygen.
Why do you think that?
The other two L226 are doing just fine.
I think that the one that passed away had some kind of internal problem that caused the "bulb"
Could perhaps be that she didn´t get all the eggs out the first time?

Hi,

In case of disease, bring more oxygen to the fish will help them to fight the disease.

I have no clue about the problem your fish faced and I will be interessed to know more about it.

Did you try to open the dead fish to see what was inside the "bubble"?

I don´t think i can get more oxygen into the tank.

No I didn´t open it up as it already had burst.

I think there were some kind of constipation.
