Use the search feature above and punch in yellow bullhead you should find the information you are after

Males have an elongate genital papilla. Breeding males have greatly expanded head muscles.

I read the article/profile. I was told they have to have mud to breed, but that says they dig a nest. So if I give them a cave and about 4-5" of gravel/sand will they breed?

Also,how do you know how to tell if a female is ripe or just fat?
