Blackworms?

Post by jimoo »

Hi, I've read quite a bit about people feeding live blackworms to Corys to help them get in breeding condition.

I've never seen blackworms for sale, live or frozen. I've found frozen: brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, daphnia, white worms, blood worms, etc... but never black worms. Are they available and from where?

Secondly, if live blackworms are preferable. Where would I purchase them? I assume I would need to mailorder them, any suggestions?

Are they easy to culture? If so, where would I get a starter pack...

I have 3 sterbai that have been breeding sporadically. I want to try to do this right.

Thanks in advance. (Sorry if this is the wrong forum)

Hi, jimoo. If you can get to one of the local fish clubs in our area, blackworms are often sold. The blackworms also sometimes appear at auctions(we are approaching the auction season).
