Rescue L114
I was just cruising through the LFS to buy a new QT tank and saw this little guy in a bottom tank. Someone chewed him up pretty good a while back but he looks to have healed up nicely.
He doesn't have a tail anymore, but he still has some stubs for pectoral, ventral, and a dorsal fin. It's all healed over, so I don't really expect any regrowth.
I have two tanks of just plecos, so I figured I could give him a good home. The LFS let him go for $5.
He eats well (I fed him in the store) and moves well, so I imagine that he'll do fine.
So...here's my guy:
Cute, huh?

I figure the LFS owner has to eat, too, so I didn't mind the $5. I was using store credit anyway, so it wasn't a huge bite.
And yeah Mats, someone was definitely asleep at the wheel with this guy. I don't know what can tear up a pseudacanthicus like that, but probably something that shouldn't have been housed with him. He's about 6", too, so he could probably hold his own against most fish.
I just introduced him to the tank and he looks good so far. Getting him out of the bucket was the hardest part...these guys are spiky!!

quick update...this guy is a mean SOB. He's in with a few asst. plecos, but he's already decided that he doesn't like the L128 and L200.
Things have setled down a bit since the first hour, but i'll be keeping a close eye on this guy.
what's a good name for a feisty cripple? "Wobbly terror" just doesn't roll of the tongue properly.

Poor fella, no wonder he's got an attitude. It's nice that you rescued him - I think he should have been free to you; he would have died in the store, leaving the store with nothing anyhow; at least this way they salvage some decent reputation.
Anyhow, he is a nice fish. Good luck with him. You may want to look into getting him is own tank? You could probably find a cheap used set-up (10G or something) to let him, and your other fish, live in peace.
