I received the book today - which is very quickly when considered it was sent on the 3rd of August from Japan - and it turns out to be the second edition of 2004. I wonder if there are changes between both editions except for the cover.
Perhaps the easiest way is to count pages. This one has 224. Jools or HH, how about your books?
I'll post a picture of the cover later on (must charge batteries first).

I think I have read somewhere that the older copy has some photos in black & white and that the newer edition may have a few extra fish and / or photos.

I also purchased a copy of this book from the same seller, I'll let you know when it turns up. Thanks for the link btw, I've been looking for it for some time. I did see it on Amazon Japan and another Asian book seller a while ago, but at the time neither indicated which edition the were offering. There is also a site in America that has it listed, among other interesting fish books.

The first edition also has 224 pages.

Snowball, you could have tried looking for the book in Kinokuniya Bookstore (there is one in Sydney, I think). I have seen this book on sale in at least one here in Singapore.

The texts are in Japanese. Doesn't matter, for it's very enjoyable as a picture book.

Marc, I collected it from the post office today :) It had been there since Friday and was sent out of Japan on the 11th.

Silurus, I made an enquiry with my local Kinokuniya book shop, they do not carry this book in stock, but they are able to order it in.

For anyone interested the ISBN reference is: ISBN4895125157

I have to dig this ancient topic up for I saw a copy at Marc's.

What a nice book!

Is there anyone who can tell me where to buy it?
Amazon.com doesn't sell it.

it would still be quite tricky to order...

what to fill in and where?

unless they got this feature on their site to switch it to non Japanese lettering?

My impression is that amazon.co.jp is laid out exactly like amazon.com, so it should not be too difficult to order even if you can't read Japanese.

There's a feature on the right hand side to translate the page into English.
I also checked Ebay; no listings currently.

Hi Javier,

There is a German version of the book. See at https://www.planetcatfish.com/books/boo ... tion+Welse.
I might guess (but don't know for sure) it to be out of print, but you could probably find a copy on the web.
