What Synodontis have I
I bought 4 of these in France, and they were sold as nigriventris. That's why I bought them as I felt sure it was wrong.
Having them in a tank where they look to be very comfortable they are almost completely black all over except for a few very small golden spots on each side. They are swimming up side down almost all the time, also along the sand. They quickly turns to take some food, and turns back again. They ate today approx. 8 cm long.
As no one in two forums in Norway have managed to indicate what Synodontis I have, I have to ask you specialists. And I wonder how common it is. Hope the picture can tell, as this is the best one I have managed making so far.

They are very common in the aquarium trade as this species is being commercially bred in Thailand. They are aggressive fish not really suited for a general community tank. Read more about this species in the CotM article.
