BN Breeding

Post by nashnut »

:?: How can I separate my male BN from the babies once they become active and before he tosses them out of the cave. The last batch went out at night and most of them are gone. It's a community tank. Is there some way of moving everything to a safe area - breeding trap, etc?

Two clear options:
- Move the breeding cave when you first see the male on eggs.

- Use a siphon (or turkey-baster) to suck up the fry (into a bucket or similar) when it's turned brown just before they leave cave.

Alternatively, of course, set up a separate tank. More tanks is better :-)
