Iam buying a new L310 Rusty plec and the owner says he is around 4 years old!
How old do the Rusty plec get?

Many years!

I don't know if it's recorded how long these fish can live, but certainly more than ten, assuming they are looked after well. Even small Corydoras, well cared for, will live for 10-15 years in captivity. I think Ian had one live for more than 17 years.

I had a P. pardalis? (Black Sail Fin) that died an accidental unatural death at least 17-1/2 years of aquarium life. It was also about 17-1/2 inches long.
I was an impressive sight to watch it surface feed upside down vacuuming in floating Tetramin Staple flakes.
