Bought as L340

Post by biXen »

Hi experts,

Gonna have to bother you again :)

I bought this fish privately as a L340, but as I know very little about L-catfish I'd like to know for sure. It seems to eat both wood, greens and meatier stuff. So here's a pic when it's enjoying some watermelon.

This is definitely not L340, but I cannot see the color pattern on the body clearly enough to tell you what it is.

That's what I was thinking, most people just seem to guess what it is. But it's fairly small, about 10cm. I have one better picture, but I'd have to send the picture to you in a pm or something if you think you can identify it, because I might use it in a competition and can't publish it then. Let me know if that's ok.

It does and it doesn't, varying images to say the least, but there's a resemblance. The yellow/orange markings aren't that bright or big though, but it looks the same otherwise, it may be that the colour varies because of the colours in the tank, but mine looks darker than those. But I'm not good at seeing the difference between the L types either.

Maybe this image helps. It chases corys around, looks a bit meathungry, but I thought it was vegetarian if it's not a L340 :P
