Abnormally long dorsal fins on an upside down catfish

I purchased two small catfish a few months ago and they have grown quite a bit. I don't have any pictures right now but I will soon. They both have dorsal fins that are almost 3/4 the length of their body. I have two others in with them and their fins seem to be normal size. I know it's hard to ID without pictures but does anyone have any idea? I will post pics in a few hours when I get home.

I don't know about .75 of their body length, but are common and have large dorsal fins.

I looked once I got home and I was mistaken, they are only about half the length, sorry. Before I registered I searched around and the closest I found were the ones you suggested. I thought it may be different because none seemed to have the size mine did, you are more than likely right. Thanks for the help and here are some pics, if you think other than your first suggestion please let me know. Sorry about the quality the ol' 1 MP camera isn't top of the line anymore. Also, did I accidentally post in this forum or was it moved for some reason? Took me a little while to find it. I thought I had posted in the "what kind is this". Just curious.

Yes, these are for sure. I moved the post in here as it clearly deals with and isn't really a matter of what is my catfish but rather a question about an African cat. The link in the email advising you of any replies will reflect that...

In your 2nd and 4th photos there is clearly a S. Eupterus. But the other cat might be S. Nigreta...?

There are actually 4 cats in the tank, two are the S. Eupterus, one is definately S. Nigreta and the fourth is still small, I rescued it out of a tank of c*****ds where it was accidentely dropped into. It was pretty beat up and is still recovering. Not sure what it is because as it's fins are growing back some are coming in crooked and discolored from scarring or healing. More than likely a S. Nigreta.

I had three striped raphaels and a spotted one but I added a couple of fish and some disease wiped out about 50% of my tank, it was very catfish specific, it seemed. It killed all my cory's and all four raphaels.

As far as nice specimens, thank you. I have been trying to get a good side, fully open picture but it's proving trickier than I thought. They are really pretty fish, one other thing, they have white nostrils. I think the piece of skin that usually covers them is just missing. When I bought them, I figured it was just trauma and it would grow back but it is still the same.

In all four pics you can see my pride and joy, the big royal. He's best seen in one and three. Theres also a stupid fire mouth c*****d I rescued from a flushing but he's really grown on me. Fun to watch him get upset with the cats, they're just like "eh, don't bother me" which aggravates him more. Theres a couple of burmese loaches in picture three, which are pretty fun little fish. Thanks for all the info. I will post some better pics once I get them.

Those are some fat catfish, they obviously don't have much competition at feeding time.

They are pretty good sized but remember the camera adds ten pounds!
