Just bought these two for $7.99 each from the lfs. What are they and can you tell me anything about them? Thanks!

Yikes! How fast do they grow? I suppose if I kept them seperated that I could grow up up to maybe 8'' and then give them away, sell them, or something like that. I don't want them to go back to that particular store. They were kinda a rescue buy. They were housed in a tiny tank with died fish floating around them and many other smaller cats. I realize that isn't a permanent home but I know they would be better off with me than going back there even just temporarily until I can find them a more suitable home.

From what I see, your fish have a red tail.Identification.... In life, the crystal blue eye and long, low sloping forehead identify this species which was previously known as Mystus wyckii. Due to the similarity in species name, sometimes this species is mixed up with H. wyckioides (previously known as Mystus nemerus) but H. wyckioides is a more grey colour and has a red tail fin.
