Hello from France
Hello,
A short presentation for my first intervention.
Us : Catherine (me) and Frederic (my husband). We are living in France, near Geneva. some people here knows us as Patience and Fred, on ForumAqua.
Please be cool with me, my english is poor (and old)... I have to progress
Our Fishes :
- Loricariidae :
* Farlowella vittata
* Farlowella mariaelenae
* Sturisoma aureum
* Rineloricaria sp (to be identified...)
* Otocinclus sp (we don't remember how many fishes we have put in the tank....). 2 species, we are not sure about our identifications....)
* L204
* L201
* L239 (soon, probably at the end of this week)
* L199 (soon too )
* Hemiancistrus guahiborum
* Spatuloricaria sp ...
- Callichthyidae
* Corydoras schwartzy
* Corydoras sterbai
* Corydoras panda
* Corydoras similis
* Corydoras hastatus
* Corydoras habrosus
* Corydoras aeneus
- Aspredinidae
* Pterobunocephalus dolichurus
Breeding :
L201, C.sterbai, C.panda, C.aeneus, Otocinclus (an accident!)
Specific tanks :
- L201 (90 liters), 4 adultes and youngs. Done.
- L204 (300 liters), 6 fishes, one male clearly identified. Done. I had looking for L276, but it's impossible to find.
- L199 (90 liters)6 fishes (ASAP)
- L239 + L106 (x6 and x5) (400 liters)
- Spatuloricaria sp, only 2 fishes, ASAP in a 400l tank.
Next challenges :
- Breeding C. schwartzy, in a specific tank ("half"-paludarium).
- Keeping the 2 Spatuloricaria in good conditions.
- Breeding L204. They are actually in " dry season", waiting for some spawning caves.
I'm probably dreaming but it's allowed
My quota of english vocabulary is employed for the next 2 years!
I hope to read you soon.

Re: Hello from France
Hello,
Thanks for your warm welcome
I have a lot of questions, of course.
I'll try to write in English, even if it takes me a long time .
First, "how to put a picture here"? I enjoy take pictures of our fishes and it will be necesary to get more informations about it.
My "informatics competences" are like my English. Very limitated
A+

To put up a picture in a post on Planet Catfish, you'll have to start by finding somewhere else on the web that offers "free picture hosting", because Planet Catfish doesn't have the resources to provide that service at the moment. There's a website called http://www.imageshack.com that works well for this purpose - others are also available.
Once you have a picture uploaded to one of these sites, you can put a link in here to the image, and using the form:
The picture will then appear in the post.
Try to make sure that the pictures are sized about 600 pixels wide, because much wider will not fit well within the screen for those who use computers with small screens. Most modern digital camera produce pictures that are MUCH bigger than that (between 1500 or 4000 pixels wide is very common), so you need to resize the image. Most photo-editors available can do this. If you want a free but still useful photo editor software, I recommend one called Irfanview, it can be found on: http://www.irfanview.com - there's even a French version of the software.
Irfanview can also be used to "enhance the colours" of the image, such as if it's too dark or too light, you can adjust it [although of course, there are limits to how much you can achieve with this technique].
Best of luck, and feel free to ask further if you need more help.
