What Tank Size

I'm going to get a new tank pretty soon and I don't know what the best footprint would be for breeding a small Hypancistrus species, possibly L-066. I'm looking for something in the 35g-50g range, but shorter than 48".

I have a productive breeding pair in a 20 long. A trio could easily be kept in said tank.

A standard 3ft tank would be fine for 3-5 King's.
