L070 Plec availability

Post by Genieworx »

Hello,

I'm forever perusing the Cat-elog and I kinda fell in love with the 'Zombie' Pleco. Has anyone come across these fish in the UK?

Cheers

I've never seen one, but as they are from the Tapajos (lots of other imports from here) you shouldn't have too much trouble ordering them from a store that has a good Brazilian supplier.

One of my LFS has had these in over the past 6 months or so.They sell them and get more in in, they still have one left as of yesterday when i was in.Should not be too hard to find I reckon, maybe ask your LFS if they have them on thier lists.

Do watch your back, though, as most loricariidae coming in as "L-070" are in fact L-265, a similar looking, but ultimately different fish also from the Tapajos.

Hi Jon, Is there anything key that I should be looking for in differentiating these two plecs? They're both nice, but I'll happily take a mango if theres a chance of a mix up.

Mouth structure is the easiest way to differentiate the two.

And the teeth, L70 is a Hypancistrus species and L265 is a Peckoltia.
