Hi all
I am going to buy a pleco soon, but I have a few questions I was hoping you could help me with.
My current tank, 250 G, is housing an infant Tiger shovelnose catfish (don't worry, I only bring them up to about 12-13" size for an aquaquarium and they adopt them) and a clairias (walking) catfish. What type of pleco is recommended? I can not use snails as the clairias eats them.
My thoughts are,
it should be fast growing as the TSN will want to eat it when it grows up abit.
grow fairly large, again to avoid being eaten.
not have sharp spines on its fins, the clairias has fairly soft skin and my wife is concerned about hurting it.
I also reallize the roll that food plays inthier growth. What do you reccomend to promote quick yet healthy growth? Zuchini, wafers, potatoe?
so, any suggestions?
newt
What pleco do you reccomend?

How about a good old ?
These are fast growing and stunning fish when given enough room and food.
To promote fast growth I would keep the water warm (28C+) and give lots of water changes combined with a high protein and high fibre diet.
The more you feed the faster they will grow provided water quality is good.
