Which ?

I'd expect them to live several years, but I have no data to substantiate that... They are relatively fast growers (at least C. batrachus), so they may not be the most long-lived species....

Well, I can't say better than "probably not very long". However, that's relative to other catfish, and even small ones like Corydoras will live many years unless the keeper does something stupid. Expert Cory keeper Ian "Coryman" Fuller reported a while back that his oldest ones are/were around 18 years old.

I wasn't able to find any useful data on lifespan of C. batrachus itself, so I can't really say. In captivity fish live quite a bit longer than in the wild, so you may well have plenty of years to go from this one.

I had a spotted doradid cat(looked like agamyxis pectinfrons)that lived for about 16 years,we called him grunter. His eyes developed an opaque film on them for about half those years but none of my other fish came close in age. I don't know the life span of clarias cats though.

Nine or ten years is nothing. I know of them reaching 15 years old and I think that was not close to their potential maximum life span. That was back before they were banned from import and sale in this Country. Plan on having them awhile and shredding a few tank mates over the years.
