Re: What is my Hypancistrus sp? L201?
They were obtained from the same source and are over 2 years old. So growth rates are different. They did look more the same early on.

What is my Hypancistrus sp? L201?
Can anyone identify the two Hypan's in my video? The one one the right has larger, brighter spots whereas the smaller pleco on the right is one of four and they are more active but are less spotted and the spots are smaller. I am guessing they are two different species but any insight from any pleco ...

Help ID'ing these Green Synos
Sorry, not very good pics but I would appreciate any ideas on what type of Syno's these are. I have a group of 3 of them. They are about 4" long and I have had them a couple years. I'll try to post some better pic later in the week.

Re: Does CatCon travel?
Andy, I hope that pans out. I am ready to stock up on some catfish. I would love to see an annual show move from city to city on the PVAC off years.

Re: need advice from Synodontis lucipinnis breeders
One other thing. Since you have so many, I would split your colony into two tanks. I have had a tank crash and lost a whole breeding colony. That really sux. It is just a good back up plan:)

Re: need advice from Synodontis lucipinnis breeders
I have found the lucipinnis pretty easy to spawn as well. My setup is a 48 x 18 tank (12 inches tall). There are 15 good sized adults. I feed mine strictly high protein flake and pellet foods. NLS, Earthworm flakes, and Brine Shrimp Flakes. I have one pot with a hole in the side that the fish can ...

I have seen kuhlis eat baby guppies. Depends on how small your cory babies are.

I recently picked up 7 of these fish that look identical to your picture, Jools. I haven't opened up my Suess book in awhile, so after reading Shane's post, I was curious on if it looked like the fish on page 44. In my opinion, the fish in the photo look like the fish on page 45. So to clarify ...

I know that Eric from All Odd Ball Aquatics was selling these. That may be why you were asking. Eric was very specific and stated that they are different than Gossei. I have purchased cories from Eric on several occasions and found him to be very reputable. I highly recommend talking with him if ...

A couple of "counter-theories" that I have on the subject. This relates to irridescent coloring in general. I belieive that stress influences coloration greatly. However, I think the lighting can make an amazing difference as well. Secondly, sunlight will really bring out bright colors in fish. You ...

Madtom Breeding
Does anyone have any experience in breeding madtoms? I have collected two different species from Missouri and would like to breed them. I have N. exilis and some banded madtoms of some sort.
