Apistomaster,
The cherry shrimp is a very interesting idea. The problem would be plants. In my planned set up and am going without plants. I am attempting to create a slice of the xingu where its all rocks. The only vegetation would be algae. There will be plenty of hiding places in the tank for ...

Dither fish for L066 Breeding river tank
Hello,
I am wondering if a dither fish is needed for my breeding trio of L066? I am building a new tank just for breeding, and because I like to build tanks. In their current tank I have penguin tetras as well as a trio of breeding Apistogrammas. My L066's have attempted to breed in this set up on ...

How to I add sand to a bare bottom established tank?
I have a bare bottom tank that I would like to add sand to. Do I remove the fish add the sand and thats it? Can I add sand with fish in the tank? Do I need to do a water change? Should I turn off the cannister filter?
Thanks
Jason

Re: Shy L-066 King Tigers.
I have breeding apistos in the tank with mine. The L066 still hide. I am lucky if I see a tail. About the only time I see them is when I am cleaning the tank.
Apistomaster, you recommend L134 in a community setting over a school of Cory's? I am not sure I have room for too many more so perhaps ...

Shy L-066 King Tigers.
Hello all,
My King Tigers have always been very shy. I hardly ever see them. I have recently seen video's of other people L-066 out in the open hanging out with the other fish. I am wondering if there is anything I can do to see my favorite fish? I was thinking about maybe adding a couple ...

Re: L-66 male on eggs in cave
Those are some great pictures.
What are your water parameters if you don't mind me asking. I have 3 L066 of unidentified sex. My ph is high for them at 7.7 I am thinking of going with a di/ro system. Yours are doing so well I am curious what your water is like.
Thanks,
Jason

Re: Green Algae - Possible Bristle nose food?
I'm about 80% sure that those are "blue-green algae", which is NOT the right food for bristlenoses.

Thats not good.
If that is blue/green it means I have too much organic waste in my water. I am 99.9% sure that would be caused by me feeding every day. I have now switched this to once ...

My water is a little cooler. Mine is at 25.5C - 26.1C (78F-79F). Would the Apistogramma cacatuoides and the Penguin Tetra's be ok in 27C water?

The tank is 40g 48x12x16.
I ordered 3 L066 from Drsfostersmith.com along with 12 penguin tetras and a pair of apistogramma cacatuoides.
I acclimated everybody via the drip in a bucket method. They all had their own buckets. Except the tetras they were all together. Everybody looks ...
