Thank for your answer. Plainfield is a bit to far (about 3,5 hour drive one way) to see just one shop which may be closed. It is true I had not precised how much I am willing to drive, so about 1,5H maximum drive (one way) around Albany is fine.

I am not one expert, but I would say it is a male.
For me a female would be larger at the pectoral fins level.

I have no magic solution to propose. Just try to increase seriously the volume of disolved oxgen in your tank, that will help her to fight the deasise.
Do you know if she is injured under the white coton? if so, you can desinfect with bétadine (povidone-iodine) and apply some vaseline to cover ...

My Adolfoï as well loose ther colors as well during night. But they come back during the day, so I think this is normal as I noticed this phenomenum as on charachids.

Pour ma part, mise en quarantaine sans traitement. Beaucoup d'observation pour voir comment les poissons évoluent. Si symptômes anormaux alors recherche d'un traitement adapté, mais pour l'instant, je n'ai eu qu'une fois des argulus (et là le traitement est plus mécanique qu'autre chose s ...
