I think youâ??ll find that most fish are impossible to id without a good picture.

I know. I'm regretting that I did not quarantine that fish today as Ick claimed the lives of my two favorite pictus. Strangely they did not seem to be showing symptoms as much as the other fish in the tank, but they are small in comparison to my other fish so it probably effected them the most.

I think I'll try that next. I understand that as these mature they prefer to have more vegetable based food, but, I have no idea how old he is aside from the two years that my friend had him. I donâ??t even know what his lifespan is.

Has anybody ever heard of an Arius seemani being referred to as a black fin shark?

My LFS is selling what they are calling black fin sharks. They look like Arius seemani but it is difficult for me to tell without having one here in front of me to compare the two.

Sorry for the long wait but here is the mystery fish.

From theses pictures it does not appear to be either of the two.

The head area has the same patterns but the rest of the body patterning, to me, looks different.

I have acquired a digital camera and will be posting a picture of it later tonight.
