Re: Injured Spotted Raph needs help
No it not the Nitrite. Those specs above are the ones from the uncycled hospital tank she's in now . I checked the Nitrite again and there's none in there. I like the idea of a heater guard Mats. I don't know why but she just drawn to it thought she has nice places to hide. So is the aqurarium salt ...

Injured Spotted Raph needs help
My Raph (JoJo) likes to hide up under the heater in my tank and has a knack of burrowing where she don't fit :irritated: . I tried to deter her away but she keeps going back. After years of hanging under there the heater got her finally ( I think) and she's missing a little skin from the top near ...

Re: Do cory's eat algae?
Jar I think you're right I did a little 10% water change today cause I did'nt like the Nitrate levels in their tank. Well the next thing I know was as soon as they felt I was done. Lo and behold she started dancing on the glass, along with her signifacant other. And she eating again too. The water ...

Re: how to treat sick cory?
I'm glad to hear you baby is getting better. Great tips. I always use marcyln2 when treating my fish with great results especially for bacterial and fungal infections. Hope your baby continues to get better.

Tell me about your C. Schwartzi cats...
I just a bit curious and wanted to see how your corys interact with you and what makes them different from your other species if you have them. My 2 lil corys (formerly know as L.L and Timi, Now Marc and Jennifer(you know the couple)) like to watch me when I'm working and watches T.V sometimes (they ...

Re: Do cory's eat algae?
Ok matz I've got the kit and so far everything seems normal.
Nitrate -20ppm
Nitrite-0ppm
Hardness-75(GH)ppm
Alkalinity- 180(kh)ppm
and PH -7.0
And No nh3 (ammonia) is present in the tank, and no eggs neither, unless they ate them.
Thanks for all your help in advance.

Re: Do cory's eat algae?

I have had my swartzs cories for 1 year, I have not added any new additions of fish in my tank. 3. As for the ammonia and nitrite (I have to get a new kit the last strip got ...

Re: Do cory's eat algae?
Hummm... makes me wonder Andy. I have seem her and her counterpart is an odd position. But I just counted it out as them hanging out and shoaling. I thought that swartz's corys didn't spawn. What do they're eggs look like, and how small are they. I have'nt seen any evidence of eggs but her ...

Do cory's eat algae?
My cory has been acting a little strange lately. She has been swimming up and down at the glass. She has not done this before and I was wondering if they ate algae cause there is a little patch left on the glass after my clean up. She does'nt seem to be interested in the food too much but her ...

Re: Help my Rapheals lost one of its barbels
I checked the water conditions and everything is fine. Yesterday I raised up the diftwood in their tank to give her more space to move around and to prevent her from bumping into it. Cause that is the only thing that's big and rough in the tank. The substrate is mostly sand with a few smooth river ...

Maybe she got into a fight with the other raph or squeezed into some space she and had a hard time getting out. I don't ...

Sorry Daragh, by raphs I mean Rapheal spotted talking catfish (almost Chrysichthys) . As for food they love hikari ...

Are c. schwartzi nocturnal fish?
I brought my c.schwartzi 6 months ago hoping to bring so activity to my tank. But all they seem to do is relax under the log and come out for food, some times they play(but rarely) besides that they sit and hang out with the raphs, are the raphs pesonality rubbing off on them or they just normally ...

Mine did the same thing, But mine seem to love the Hikari carnivorus sinking pellets. It has a really strong smell and heard on the forum that they eat by smell so that stinky catfood smell you get when you open the bag is what gets their attention. Mine also like the Tetra min Variety wafers. But ...

Well hello catfish I'm not a fan of acrylic tanks. But I understand your situation. I would would be very very careful with placing real rocks in those type of tanks cause Number one they scratch and mar very easily. And can be an ugly site. I would try diftwood my new little corys love it. Try to ...

Thanks for your replies, I had my little corys for about a month now. So they know when to come out when they are hungry. What to feed Corys?
I just bought 2 swartz corys to go along with my 2 rapheal catfish and I'm new at caring for them and I don't know what to feed them. I'm currently feeding them tetra min pellets which is perfect for the rapheals but not for the corys I think. I've tried feeding them tetra first Bites and tetra ...
