Mainly to stop the illegal trade that keeps going on, with "legal" export of wild fish from Colombia and Peru, despite the ...

Hi Sorry about digging the old thread.... I was lucky to add a group of 5 Bunocephalus verrucosus after 8 years of searching and getting them in time...I had a pair for several years before...and ever since I lost my first pair while working in South America, I had dreamt of keeping this species ...

Bonjour Agreeing with Jools ID!!

Re: Fragile eggs....

Hi Jac!!

Maybe the water is too basic & hard considering the geographic origin of these fish??
That would be about the only possibility I would see!!
But I am not worried they are in good hands with you!!

Re: color and finnage varieties of Ancistrus cirrhosis

Ancistrus cirrhosis: I would expect them to be yellow with such name!! ^^

Seriously Ancistrus cirrhosus the natural coloration is brown with white/yellow spots

but there are a bunch a commercial varieties with them being yellow, orange, orange brown, longfins, normal fins, etc...

Hi!! I was lucky to obtain from Iktus-aqua this beautiful fish. Just sad there was only one, but hopefully I ll get more in the futur.
