Re: Breeding Corydoras melanotaenia (green-gold)
Wow... thanks alot for all that info. :D No problem. They are happened to be the one I had bred. What'd you have in the tank for them to spawn on? I have plenty of plants around, both live and plastic. Bunch of un-used sand too. Would that be prefered, or is bare, or something else preferable? From ...

Re: Breeding Corydoras melanotaenia (green-gold)
Be careful with these guys. Once they start, they lay like 200~300 per female every month. And you end up with so many frys that you don't know what to do with them. I traded some Panda juvi for 5 adults Melanotaenia a year and half ago I think, with my fellow aquarium society member. Although if I ...

Re: sp black spawning
Thanks for that Neoncory. The tank is 10.5 gallon, temp is 77F and Ph 6,5. There is a thin layer of smooth grain sand, a little piece of mangrove root and some java moss. I used to run a air driven sponge filter in the tank, but there was no activity on the corys. Then I decided to try an put in a ...

Re: sp black spawning
Congratulation Birger, I can't wait my group to grow up. Like 2 weeks ago, I finally found some for reasonable price and decide to get them since they have been on my want list for long time. They are still like 1" but the person I got them from told me that they should breed in 4~6 ...

Corydoras "San Juan" are another one that gets misidentified with these in the USA trade. Ughh you are right, Larry. After little digging and find out that the "San Juan" is C. Bilineatus, although they seem to have more uniformed crisp lines/marking and didn't see the difference of color/marking ...

Thanks Ian. It seems I need more careful observation  when I go there again. Especially the body shape. One more question. So you think that is it possible to find them in the U.S? I mean, are there any chance of the fish I saw are actually C.Undulatus? Or could it be one of those C.Julii and ...

Corydoras undulatus
Hi all, Once again I need to pick some Corydoras nut brain. How rare are the C.Undulatus, especially in U.S? Yesterday I went to the local store and ready to buy those after I saw them week ago or so, and did some research about them. Although I didn't find much information but at least so the ...

Or else evicted from nice home with frequent meal service. No, I believe it was paying top dollar to acquire 50 more. I told a friend of mine after I placed the order, "Watch. Those ...

When you look at groups of these fish they show characteristics from both species, making it virtually impossible to tell what species they actually are. The difference between C.Longipinnis and C.Paleatus?
Hi. :?: Are there a easy way to tell them apart between C.Longipinnis and C.Paleatus? :?: I recently aquired some young group of "Peppered Corys" off internet auction site. Anyway, the picture on the web looked like C.Longipinnis with longer dorsal fin and all. But I know C.Paleatus could have that ...

Well, this morning I saw something make you smile and warm your heart. As usual, I was syphoning out some water so I can use the water to change the fry tanks. Congraturation Amanda, So they laid 40~50 eggs, then? I hear they tend to leave eggs in the cruster on the top corner glass? I also heard that male can be territorial when they are in the breeding condition, of course the tank size play the part, I'm sure. But your sex ratio is probably good thing ...

What color of sands/gravels do you have? I know sometime, some of the Corys can change their color to make themselves blend in better to their surroundings. Hi corybreed, I don't mean to disagree with someone who had done it before. C. adolfoi are not particularly difficult to breed but as you rightly say they are extremely difficult to raise. The fry actually need to be swimming if food soup, because they just do not search for it. One trick is to put the C. adolfoi fry with the fry of another easy to raise species and what ...
