Royal Pleco Belly Colour
I have a 6" TL Royal Pleco Panaque that I have had for about 8 months. He is eating well and has superb patternation but I notices this morning where the lines normally are on his belly has turned white. There are no visible signs of infection and his belly is not sunken. Any ideas if this is normal ...

Bloat? and what to do?
I have a small L134 (1.5"). He is eating well in a community tank but his belly seems bloated.
What can I do?
Stop feeding? I am feeding spirulina tabs.
Raise temp?
Treat with anything?
Any ideas?

L134 - meaty foods?
I have just bought a small L134. Cat-elog states "Omnivorous with a tendancy towards meaty foods". What type of food would this be? I feed all my other pl*cos on spirulina tabs and Courgette. Also, LFS stated Hypancistrus L134 but Cat-elog states Peckoltia. L134 body shape certainly resembles my ...

I know its not a Catfish but please HELP!!!!!!!!
I know this is not a Catfish but you guys have been brilliant in the past when I have had problems with Pl*cos. I have recently bought a Green Terror (2.5"). Yesterday I noticed it had a clear string/worm like 'thing' hanging from its anus. This 'thing' is approximately 2" long. It did eventually ...

Panaque with SA Cichlids
I have a Panaque Nigrolineatus (4") that I have had for 6 months. I have also setup a South/Central American Cichlid tank with 2 Firemouth, 1 Convict and (I think) a Jewel. All young and getting on OK. Could I add the Panaque to the Cichlid tank? Tank is 200ltr, external filter, 26C, small gravel ...

Andy, Juwel tanks and stands/cabinets are designed so you do not need anything on the base on the tank. If your stand is 'bowed' or uneven i would suggest you take it back to the outlet you bought it from as this could be caused by water ingress into the chipboard. I am almost certain that if you ...

Adam, Does the filter media need to be above the reservoir of water in the sump or can the ceramic peices actually be in the water. I am now thinking of a 36" x 15" x 15" tank as a sump. Partition on third with acrylic/plastic. What would be the best method to ensure that the water from the tank is ...

Sump trickle filters
Help, I am looking to setup a large tank (approx. 400L). I would like to use a standard sump trickle filter in a tank below the main tank. Are there any websites to show how to do this? Questions:- What volume should the sump be? Ratio with main tank? Can i construct my own sump from a small tank? I ...

I have an L190 Panaque in a Juwel tank. He/she does knaw at the plastic housing around the filter, heater and powerhead and I have seen this in his faeces (poo). Obviously gone staright through! Not done him any harm so far. The only thing is this is a hard brittle plastic and tanks are generally a ...

Panaque nigrolineatus L190 Eating habits
OK. I have just bought an L190 and it is about 2" and doing well. Eating pleanty of wood, algae on the glass and cucumber. I have also read they will eat meat (blood worms, cockles, mussels, etc). Is this true as i understood they were herbivores? Do they actually need this as part of there diet ...

Red Tail Sternella
Anybody know what one of these is.
I have looked in Cat-eLog and found nothing of this name.
Found in LFS priced at UK£15 labelled as Red Tail Sternella.
Approx. 1.5"
Looks like L075 Pseudocanthicus leopardus but so small can't really tell.
Any ideas?
